The Patriarch

He rose to greet the coming dawn. As always, he flew to this perch to watch the rising sun, to marvel at the beauty of these lands in its light. Yet, by some chance, an adventurer had found their way here as well, stumbling their way into the dragon's lands.

He turns, hovering, to gaze at them; though it is obvious this eye is blind, he seems to study them all the same. After a moment, he turns back towards the sun. They are of no threat, for now. Only another beholder of this morning's brilliance.

This is meant to be a sort of companion picture to The Matriarch.

So, 1. Oh god I finally came up with a design for Xom I actually LIKE. WHAT IS THIS MADNESS.
2. Holy shit did I draw that?

I have been meaning to sit down and design/draw Xom a dragon form that I wouldn't be like "....REVAMP TIME!" within a week. Seriously. He has be redesigned an obnoxious amount of times in the couple of years he's existed. Ugh. The design is...potentially lorebreaking, but I don't care. I'm happy with it. XD
This isn't how he looks right now, though. All of his horns/etc are normal looking at the moment. It's not until just after the Cataclysm strikes that his horns harden into stone, signifying his complete control over his powers.

Sososo I love how Xommy came out omg. His face. His face is amazing. <3 His wings drove me crazy(that fricking wing-elbow. I erased thouse elbows so many times I hate WoW dragon wings I swear--), but fffff. So much love. It came out really well for being a pose I've never tried before. I'm trying really hard to break away from my "I draw side-views facing the left! 8D" dealio. Because that's getting tiresome. He's still facing left here but shhhhhhh--

What I don't like is the background. This whole picture was "TRY NEW THINGS!" but I tried too many new things and got sick of not knowing what to do halfway through. I'm terrible at shading, like, I still have no grasp on where to and not to shade. I have never done rocks before, so extra no idea how to shade there. No idea how to draw trees from topview(Yes. Those are trees. Not grass. Trees.)
Not my greatest job ever, coloring-wise, but I'm getting there. I think. -_- Maybe. I'm done caring right now, though. |D;

The picture was longer than this, but I felt it was more "LOOK AT MY PRETTY(except not really) BACKGROUND" instead of "LOOK AT MY PRETTY XOM" so I shrunk it down some. |D;
